- Description
-
◣ Basic Information
Chemical formula: Na2HPO4
English Name: Disodium Hydrogen Phosphate
Molecular weight: 141.96 (Calculated from the common dodecahydrate \(Na_2HPO_4-12H_2O\), molecular weight is 358.14)
◣ Properties
Physical Properties: Disodium phosphate is usually white crystalline powder or colorless transparent crystal. It is easily soluble in water and its aqueous solution is alkaline. Dodecahydrate is easily weathered in air, and will lose water of crystallization when heated to a certain temperature.
Chemical Properties: It has the general property of salt, and can react with acid, alkali, salt and other substances. For example, it reacts with strong acid to generate phosphoric acid, and reacts with certain metal ions to generate the corresponding phosphate precipitate. In aqueous solution, disodium phosphate will be hydrolyzed, making the solution alkaline.
◣ Uses
Industrial use: water treatment, detergent, paper industry
Food industry: quality improver, nutritional enhancer
Pharmaceutical field: pharmaceutical excipients, phosphorus supplementsOther fields: agricultural field, chemical analysis
